Spain

Just a very brief week in the only country in Europe, apart from Portugal, I had never visited before. Long story short, I was with Mike and Ros and they had booked a nice house in the village of Competa…but I was recovering from a chest infection and the heat and steepness of the village streets combined to make me feel quite unwell. I also contracted Oral Thrush[Didn’t know such a thing existed]. Throw in a couple of Migrains and you have the perfect mix for not wanting to be anywhere.

It was such a shame but thanks to the kindness of my friends, I did manage to recover a bit and get out and about but  photography was not high on my agenda.

Our visit to The Alhambra Palace was also tainted by my second Migraine of the week and I struggled to ‘engage’. The level of Tourism was more than I’ve ever encountered before and underlined why I usually avoid major Tourist sights. I’d wanted to go to the Alhambra for a long time…perhaps Winter would be a better time to visit.

My favourite day out was a trip to, we knew not where, but ended up in the beautiful village of Cantillas de Albaida. I could have photographed those wonderful geometric shapes and twisting allyways all day. Throw in powder blue sky’s and puffy clouds and life doesn’t get much better!
